Josef Fuchs born in Kitzbühel, Tirol, is an Austrian singer, cultural manager and coach.

Appointed Head of Casting and Artistic Affairs at the Nederlandse Reisopera (Dutch National Touring Opera) in 2014, he is currently in the position of the Casting Director.

Before moving to the Netherlands, he worked for many years in Vienna, both on stage and behind the scenes. From 2007 to 2014, he appeared regularly as a guest singer at the Wiener Burgtheater and Theater an der Wien, as well as in various off-scene theatre and music projects.

Alongside his performing career, he worked as an artist manager with the international opera agency Sono Artists, collaborating with Austrian summer festivals in casting, consulting, and production management.

He has been actively involved in coaching and advising emerging artists, offering professional workshops, working with Young Artist Programs in Amsterdam, and serving as a jury member for several major international vocal competitions, including the Ada Sari Competition, the Belvedere Singing Competition, and the International Vocal Competition ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Josef Fuchs studied vocal performance, musicology, and communication at the University of Salzburg, where he began his career with the Salzburg Festival, managing productions at the Zeitfluss Festival.
